This panel will examine how prevention can be embedded into everyday practice without adding administrative burden, launching GPN's report "Shaping the Future of Primary Care- Priorities and Challenges for the Next Decade". It will explore how early intervention can prevent escalation when built into existing workflows, supported by digital tools that reduce steps rather than create new monitoring tasks, and how contractual misalignment can hinder coordination.

The discussion will also address operational and funding risks across practices, PCNs and neighbourhood teams, including unstable VCSE contracts, the true cost of digital implementation, and the challenges of invest-to-save models. The session will highlight the need for aligned incentives and long-term stability to make prevention sustainable.
